IMMUNE VFX Shots for Coventry Based Virus/Zombie Film

Immune Zombie movie trailer splash image The film has been shot in and around Coventry on a fairly low budget. Mark has been helping with some of the special effects. One shot called for a girl to visibly transform from normal, to infected, which the crew couldn't do on set. So Mark was given a picture of the finished make-up and had to track her facial features, and slowly blend in the effect as she moved within the frame The clips have now been delivered back to the ediors for insertion into the final film

Young Fisherman Boat Stories Film Shown at Blue New Deal Launch

The 22nd September saw the launch of the Blue New Deal initiative at the Southbank Centre in London. The initiative aims to create stronger economies for UK coastal communities through healthier seas. As part of the event, we were asked to provide a copy of our recent Boat Stories film 'A Life in the Day of a Young Fisherman', which was shown as part of the panel discussions, with an aim to promote a debate on the future of the fishing industry. The star of the film, Ben Bengey, also attended the event as part of the discussion panel. Or liason at the event, Fernanda, contacted us after the event saying "Thank you again for supporting the event last week by letting us show the film about Ben Bengey. It was a really successful event and people really enjoyed the film".

Boat Stories Premiere Screening Event

On Friday 4th September, the Maniac team attended a premiere screening of all 10 films in the Boat Stories series. The event was held at the Landmark Theatre in Infracombe and was attended by the filmmakers and stars of the films. The event featured two film premieres, one of which was our recent film 'A Life in the Day of a Young Fisherman, ', which was filmed & edited in August and finished just 3 days befdore the event. The event was a success and another is scheduled for 16th October in Bideford, see the Boat Stories website details.

Live Event Filming for Mole Valley Farmers Catwalk Event

Mark has just returned from the Mole Valley Farmers, Joules Autumn/Winter clothing catwalk show The shoot was a multi camera shoot with Phil Saunders Creative. The live footage was broadcast onto the big screens at either side of the catwalk, and we also recorded the live footage for editing by Phil after the event. For the event we used a number of cameras, the ABC minicrane and also a few new pieces of equipment, indluding our new Blackmagic ATEM vision mixer

Second Shoot for New Boat Stories Film - Lifeboards & fishing

We have been back in Ilfracombe filming our latest installment in the Boat Stories project. in the afternoon Stu joined 17 year old Ben Bengey, as he skippered a charter fishing trip on his boat. The hour long trip gave us a chance to show off another facet fo Ben's work. Following this Stu was joined by Mark and we filmed Ben as he handed the boat over to his dad, while we followed him to the LIfeboat station in preparation for exercises. In the evening, Mark joined Bens dad on the boat as they filmed Ben taking part in Lifeboat training exercises.
