One end has a hex end to fit into a super clamp or similar and the other end has a standard 5/8 spiggot with a safety eye hole. Mount your super clamp to the C-stand riser section and then snap-in this right angle pin to mount your lamp up right. Or just hand your gaffer tape and spare cables on it instead to keep your workspace tidy.
