topic icon The Toxic Avenger back on Blu-ray for TromArchive Series

We are nearing the end of the Blu-ray authoring for the Troma comedy-horror feature film The Toxic Avenger 1984 for re-release on Blu-ray disc by Liam Regan of Refuse Films. The Blu-ray is scheduled for release as soon as a few more of the many special features and extras from the Troma Films archive are signed off - and there are alot of extras on this release including a HD widescreen version of teh 4K scan of the movie plus an Open matte  aspect Directors cut and the original Japanese cut in Open Matte aspect ratio.

For those who are not familiar with the main character - The Toxic Avenger, the film is about the first Superhuman-Hero... from New Jersey!

After falling into a vat of toxic chemical waste, a 98-pound bullied nerd, Melvin Ferd, transforms into a hideously deformed creature of superhuman size and strength to save the little people of Tromaville, New Jersey, from evil and corporate corruption.

Refuse Films' sub-label, the TromArchive Collection offers previously unreleased materials from the Troma film archives in NYC. Providing limited editions of Troma Team classics, world Blu-ray premieres, and subversive deep cuts to Tromatize your physical media library. This includes the Trey Parker Troma movie Cannibal! The Musical that we previously worked so very hard on the video restoration and upscale recently.

Toxie popup menu with chapter selection options on the Blu-ray

The Blu-ray authoring by Maniac Films has involved trying to fit a lot of great content onto a BD50 dual layer Blu-ray disc - along with the multiple specials menus with looping music backgrounds and multiple commentary tracks from Lloyd Kaufman and the Toxie cast and crew plus new interviews shot for this edition. Each video film on the Blu-ray has a pop-up menu for ease of navigation and bypass the problem with Blu-ray players not having a real 'back button' like you get on DVD players. The main film uses a more complex chapter selection pop-up menu shown above with great artwork again from Mila for the menus as well as the disc box inlay and sleeve..

Buy your limited edition Toxic Avenger Blu-ray now from Refuse Films website. It's a classic film and the many extras and special features on this edition make this new re-release a worthwhile addition to your collection.
