Martin Cassini's campaign for traffic system reform - Equality Streets (formerly FiT Roads) - continues. After his appearance on BBC Newsnight with Jeremy Paxman, his latest project is a series of films for Cheshire East Council about the biggest shared space (no traffic lights) scheme yet seen in the UK.
It's at a major junction in the small town of Poynton, currently cut in two by a north-south trunk road. We part-hired, part-loaned Martin a mobile edit suite on a laptop and an external hard drive containing footage from his previous films for use in the new edits.
After completing a basic rough-cut or 'assembly' edit, Martin returned to us, and we taught him more advanced techniques to help him refine the first video. Martin went away and completed the second, longer version, with the occasional emergency phone call to Maniac Films. The two videos for Poynton are so far approved (a 4-min and a 10-min version), but still await a final green light from the Council to go public.
Meanwhile, if you would like to find out more about Martin's work, see Equality Streets.
If you are interested in Video Production or just some aspects like Editing, Visual Effects, Film Restoration, Subtitles and Captioning or general Post Production then please get in touch with us at Maniac Films to discuss your next project. We can also offer training at our office if that will provide the most cost effective option for you.
