topic icon Colour grading for short film Worlds Apart

Worlds Apart is a new short film by Sara Barbas, a story of love, alienation and self-discovery.

Sara contacted us for help with the final grade on the film, and we were happy to assist her in getting the project finished. Mark from Maniac Films took on the task with gusto and has taken the raw footage from a Canon 5D and tweaked every shot to make the different camera angles match in colour and lighting.

You can check out the website for the film at http://worldsapartfilm.wordpress.com or watch the short clip above.

The film tells the story of a man from Greece and a girl from Portugal sharing a house in the UK with a British girl as they try and understand more about their flat mate, about the country that is England and about themselves, their own choices, priorities and hidden feelings.

Worlds Apart colour grading assistance

Colour grading is essential to give a consistent match between shots in any production from music videos to dramas and documentaries. In its primary form it’s called colour correction because your usually correcting for mistakes in the filmmaking process – fixing the white balance of some shots or correcting for the overall exposure level or contrast.

If you need Visual Effects (VFX), colour grading or just some shot clean-ups and rotoscoping work then get in touch with Maniac Films to discuss your film project requirements. We work with film transfer re-grades and film clean-ups (dust and dirt removal, upscaling, colour stabilisation) for DCP and Blu-ray distribution.
