The Sound devices 442 Field Mixer is a location mixer with 4x microphone inputs/pre-amplifiers that will give you a super clean feed into your camera or audio recorder.

The unit provides 2 channel stereo mix down output of the 4 inputs. Alternatively you can use the direct outputs to send the 4 unmixed channels directly to your recorder. Note that using this option only the gain will be applied to the signal - but it's a great way to boost a signal before recording.

The recorder will be supplied with a specially designed Portabrace carry bag that has space for a recorder as well. Also supplied with 4 x short XLR patch cables for interconnecting to a recorder.

We recommend that you combine this unit with our Edirol R-44 recorder which has 4 channel recording. Either use the direct outputs or use the mixed stereo out into 2 channels leaving 2 channels free to record a total of 6 mic inputs at once!
You can also combine the 442 with other audio recorders. 

Included is a Vlock powering solution comprised of a V-lok battery, power plate and D-tap adapter cable to powet the unit
